John Riggins ("The Diesel") is a Hall of Fame running back (1971–1985) known for his bruising style with the New York Jets and Washington Redskins. A 1992 inductee, he was the MVP of Super Bowl XVII, rushing for a record 166 yards, and set a then-record with 24 touchdowns in 1983.
